I LOVE Halloween! I also love being a mom to a boy who loves Halloween as much as I do! Beck is so fun and has been loving all things Halloween and pumpkins. Since Beck changes his mind of what he wants to be for Halloween almost daily, I thought it would be fun to whip out a fun costume from an Amazon smile box. I love the idea of an easy Halloween costume.I think the term Boxtume is so clever- a mix of a box and a costume! As a Prime member, we love the convenience and fast, free shipping! I made this costume in an afternoon and Beck loves it! I can’t wait to have him wear this tractor costume to a party and school. It was such an easy Halloween costume to whip up and I know you can do it too!

I am excited to share with you how I made this costume using things I had around my home. Seriously such an easy Halloween costume!

What you will need:

-Black and green spray paint

-Gray, black and yellow construction paper

-An empty paper towel roll

-2 large paper plates and 2 small paper plates

-1 Amazon smile box!

-Tape (to tape the box and to attach things to the box)

That’s all you need! I told you it was an easy Halloween costume! For reference, the box was flat and I taped the top and then cut out a square for Beck to stand in and left the bottom open.

  1. I spray painted the outside of the box green. I also spray painted all the plates and the paper towel roll black and let them dry.
  2. Out of yellow construction paper I cut circles and the lines for the side of the tractor.
  3. Out of black and silver construction paper I made the engine.
  4. Then I taped on the plates, construction paper and paper towel roll to the Amazon smile box.
  5. And that’s it! You’re all ready to go! This whole process took less than two hours including drying time- so quick!

Once Beck had the costume on, I just clipped some suspenders to it so he didn’t have to hold it the whole time. You could also add some straps which might be better so your kids can’t undo the suspenders.

It was so fun to spend a little bit of time being creative, crossing a costume off the list and using things I already had around my home to make an easy Halloween costume! Happy costuming!
