Bored this summer? Hiked the Y, Bridal Veil, and Steward Falls so many times you could do it with your eyes closed? These hidden gems are absolute treasures to me! These underrated and lesser-known Utah Valley Hikes are must-dos for your summer 2021 bucket list.

Mistress Falls

Hardy har, the lesser-known sister waterfall of Bridal Veil Falls. (Get it? Mistress?) I was super hesitant before doing this one and the trailhead was hidden behind a spray-painted shed but it ended up being AMAZING. Not too long but there are lots of various trails around the waterfall if you want to climb around more. Great view of the mountains and a road much less traveled.

Horsetail Falls Trail

Just above Alpine, this hike is gorgeous and not too strenuous. There are great views pretty much the whole way. I loved the wildflowers along the way and the fields. Popular hammocking spot too!

Lost Creek Falls Trail

Another amazing hidden treasure. The trail head is unmarked and you walk up a path by a chain link fence for a while before you get to the actual trail. You can stop when you get to the creek but I would highly recommend hiking up the stream to the waterfalls. Could be a great Teva/Chaco hike if you’re okay with ice cold water on your toes! (I thought it felt AMAZING).

Cecret Lake

The hike is pretty steep but super short. A great picnic/hammocking/studying spot. This is the only lake on my underrated and lesser-known hikes in Utah Valley list. My favorite part of this one was relaxing on the rocks and looking over the glassy lake. Not so pretty once everything is dead but an absolute oasis when the brush is full.

Buffalo Peak Trail

Super short but really pretty! Dogs are allowed too. I loved the beautiful wild flowers and the fact that it was so short that I could really enjoy the view. *Warning* It says its in Provo but is actually around 45 minutes away.

Dry Fork Trail

Last but not least, Dry Fork! This one is a little longer but makes a great nature trip. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about seeing wildlife on the trail. Still lesser-known and a great choice for avid hikers.

I hope you enjoy these underrated, lesser known Utah Valley hikes! Check out Cherrington Co. for the cutest summer tees to wear on your hike!
