We have lived in our new home for 5 months now and we are loving doing updates to our liking! Our home is so bright and just all white. I loved it at first because I wasn’t used to the brightness. But then I started to get tied of how boring our home is haha. I wanted to spice things up a bit and add more dimension to our living area. I have always wanted a dark colored wall in my home and have thought about going with forest green or navy. We decided on a black wall in our living space and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I love that we have black on the legs of our table and barstools so it ties it all in.This is hands down the best black paint for walls.
Here is the before and after!! I am so blown away and love it more everyday! I am not sick of it at all! I couldn’t have chose a better black paint for walls in our kitchen area.
It was hard to decide which paint to go with because the wall we chose to paint is a hallway and also near the door to the garage. We needed something that was durable and washable as black can get dirty. I decided to go with PPG Diamond Interior 100% Acrylic Paint in Onyx Black (00NN 05/000) in the flat finish and it looks amazing! What I love about this paint is that it is a paint and primer combination. I got it from THE HOME DEPOT®. I also love that the paint starts at $23.98 per gallon. And PPG Diamond Interior Paint provides exceptional durability and hide and outstanding stain resistance that protects your beautiful look making it the best black paint for walls. It has been so easy to clean too! That has been one of the most asked questions I received as I was sharing about this whole process on my Instagram stories. The other question was if the black made the room feel small and the answer is not at all! I love that there is so much white still in the area to open it up and brighten it up! I think it helped too that we painted a hallway so it isn’t a closed in room- I love this paint and it is the best black paint for walls in your home.
While painting with the PPG paint it applied SO evenly and we only had to do two coats! It also dried so fast and even! PPG Onyx Black (00NN 05/000) is a dark, cool, bat black with a true black undertone. I would say it is the blackest black paint! I wanted something that was true black and that was hard to find! Onyx Black is the best black on the market! It is a perfect paint color to make a statement in any room. Pair it with white for a clean, classic look or with any other color to make it stand out.
PPG has over 135 years of innovative solutions! It is used in offices, airplanes etc so I loved using a paint that is all around me! I would use it anywhere- the best black paint for walls.
Oh and another question I have been getting is how we did the triangle accent wall. So if you saw my Instagram Stories you know that happened on accident haha. Eric accidentally started painting on that wall so we decided to make it a fun accent wall! We just whipped out the painters tape and did a diagonal line. So easy and it is so fun! I can’t even tell you how many compliments I get on it haha.
I have had a lot of things I had been wanting to hang but just haven’t gotten around to yet. I was so excited to hang everything after I painted. It just made the space feel finished after it was painted. Seriously our hallway was so elevated! I love these hooks from 5 mm Paper.
And I love these fun acrylic frames! They are from Wexel Art Displays. We wanted to display some family photos and most of the ones I chose were from places our family has traveled to. I love walking down the hallway to my room and seeing my family memories. It makes me excited for our future travel plans!
I grabbed the shelf from Target & I love the contrast between the wood and the black. It is so eye catching and compliments the wall so well.
If you have been thinking about a statement wall or painting a room- just do it! Paint makes alllll the difference! I want to paint everything now haha! It just took an afternoon to transform this space and I don’t know what I waited so long. I 100% recommend PPG and will be using this paint in the future.
